The Heavens' Covenant

The Heavens’ Covenant

The Covenant is failing. The celestial pact that bound the gods and held reality together for four thousand years is cracking, and the cracks are spreading. The Astral Veil — the barrier between the Mortal Plane and the Void — grows thinner with each passing season. Magic surges without warning. The ruling Auriels are fading, their golden bloodline withering as the divine energy that sustains them unravels. In the frozen north, the Vaeryns smell weakness and sharpen their axes. In the marshes, the Covenant’s physical form pulses with unstable light, guarded by the fragmented mind of the god who made it. Something is coming. The sky itself knows it.

From the Prophecy of the Second Shattering

“When the Veil tears and the stars go silent, the Arbiter’s scales will tip for the last time. What was bound will be unbound. What was sealed will walk free.”

The Current Age

The world stands in the Fifth Age — year 5A 853. The Covenant’s power is waning, and factions across Kaelara are scrambling to interpret, exploit, or destroy what remains. The question is no longer if the Covenant breaks, but what happens when it does.
