Legendary Artifacts¶
These items are not merely powerful; they are woven into the fabric of history. Some are lost, some are guarded, and some are feared.
The Divine Regalia (Relics of the Covenari)¶
1. The Binding Quill¶
Attributed to: Solphirion - Lore: The tool used to write the Heavens’ Covenant. It is said to be forged from a single shard of the Infinite Spire. - Power: It can rewrite the “Truth” of a localized area. For example, if a wielder writes “This door is open” on the air, the locked door will open. - Status: LOST. Last seen in the possession of a mad scholar in the Archives of Velion.
2. The Sun-Forge Hammer¶
Attributed to: Ignifer - Lore: The hammer that struck the first spark of creation. It is too heavy for any mortal to lift, save for the High-Artificer of the Iron-Guilds. - Power: Can forge Erythium without heat and shatter any material. - Status: GUARDED. Located in the Deep-Forge of Ironridge.
3. The Tide-Caller’s Horn¶
Attributed to: Aenior - Lore: Carved from the horn of the First Leviathan, this spiral instrument hums with a low, constant vibration. Legends say Aenior sounded it once to separate the oceans from the sky. - Power: Atmospheric Sovereignty. The blower can summon hurricanes, calm typhoons, or call tsunamis. However, the Horn demands a price: each use fills the user’s lungs with a little more seawater, eventually drowning them on dry land. - Status: DISPUTED. Currently the prize of a bloody war between the Imperial Armada and the Crimson Compact. It changes hands with every sea battle.
4. The Lunar Lens¶
Attributed to: Lunarae - Lore: A monocle spun from solid moonlight. It was used by the first Arch-Mage to map the Leylines. - Power: Allows the user to see the Astral Veil and invisible magical currents. In high concentrations of magic, it can blind the user with “Truth.” - Status: STOLEN. Currently in the possession of the Thousand-Petal Court.
5. The Evergreen Heart¶
Attributed to: Othea - Lore: A wooden seed the size of a fist, pulsing with green light. - Power: Can regrow an entire forest in a single night or heal any mortal wound. However, it requires a life for a life — to heal one, another must die nearby. - Status: BURIED. Hidden deep beneath the roots of Havenwood.
6. The Bulwark of the Titan¶
Attributed to: Oroth - Lore: A tower shield carved from a piece of Kaelara’s core. - Power: It is immovable. Once planted, no force in the physical world can push the wielder back. - Status: LOST. Believed to be at the bottom of the Ravance Trench.
7. The Infinite Scroll¶
Attributed to: Velion-Kael - Lore: A scroll case that never runs out of parchment. It writes itself, recording history as it happens. - Power: Reading it gives absolute knowledge of the present, but the sheer volume of information instantly drives mortals insane. - Status: SEALED. Locked in the deepest vault of the Archives of Velion. No one is allowed to open it.
The Cursed Objects (Relics of the Severith)¶
1. The Void-Key¶
Attributed to: Malakor - Lore: A small, featureless cube of vantablack material. It feels infinitely heavy. - Power: It does not open doors; it removes them. It deletes matter, creating a temporary hole in reality. - Status: HIDDEN. Rumored to be carried by the leader of the Thousand-Petal Court.
2. The Chain of Subjugation¶
Attributed to: Karnath-Magar - Lore: A rusted iron chain that smells of dried blood. It is said to be made from the links of broken oaths. - Power: If wrapped around a victim’s neck, their Will is completely broken. They will obey any command, even self-destruction. - Status: LOST. Last seen during the Age of Conquest.
3. The Shard of Spite¶
Attributed to: Varia - Lore: A jagged fragment of a mirror that reflects the viewer as hideous and makes trustworthy friends appear as enemies. - Power: It amplifies paranoia. The wielder can “plant” discord in a room, causing allies to turn on one another within minutes. - Status: CIRCULATING. It tends to appear in royal courts right before a civil war.
4. The Coin of Eternal Hunger¶
Attributed to: Avaros - Lore: A single gold coin that is colder than ice. - Power: It multiplies wealth. If placed in a vault, gold will duplicate. However, for every coin duplicated, “luck” is consumed. The owner will suffer freak accidents, diseases, and losses in other areas of life. - Status: OWNED. Rumored to be in the private vault of a High-Merchant in Valtharion.
5. The Lantern of Waking Nightmares¶
Attributed to: Nocnitsa - Lore: An iron lantern that emits shadow instead of light. - Power: When “lit,” it plunges a 100ft radius into the Astral Veil. Physical laws warp, and the user’s worst fears manifest as physical monsters. - Status: BURIED. In a crypt beneath the Obsidian Marshes.
6. The Crown of Hollow Glory¶
Attributed to: Valdris (Dead God) - Lore: A magnificent crown of gold and rubies that feels strangely light, as if it has no substance. It is the last remnant of a dead god — Valdris was consumed by Malakor during the Age of Reclamation, and the Crown is all that survived. - Power: Grants the wearer supernatural Charisma. Legions will die for them. But slowly, the wearer loses their own memory, replaced entirely by the last echoes of Valdris’s dying will. Those who think they commune with Valdris are actually channeling Malakor’s hunger wearing a crown-shaped mask. - Status: MISSING.
7. The Paradox Die¶
Attributed to: Eiron (The Unbound) - Lore: A small die whose number of faces changes every time an observer tries to count them. It might have six sides one moment and thirteen the next. The numbers rearrange between glances. - Power: Chaos. Roll it. The outcome is never predictable — total invincibility for an hour, or turning into a potted plant. The die decides. The user has no influence on the result. - Status: UNKNOWN. Eiron likely keeps it in his pocket dimension.
Historical Artifacts¶
